Blessed be the name! Blessed be the name! Blessed be the name of the LORD!

There is none other name under heaven given among men whereby we MUST be saved! Truly, only salvation comes from the name of our Lord Jesus Christ! For the Father hath blessed HIM, and given HIM a name that is above every name! That at the name of JESUS every knee should bow (of things in heaven, and things in the earth, and things under the earth), and EVERY tongue should confess that JESUS is LORD to the glory of God the Father! Truly, HE is MOST blessed, and HIS name is most blessed for ever and ever.

But now, we have called upon and chosen that worthy name! We have taken that name to ourselves, calling HIM our Lord, our Saviour, our King, our Messiah, our Redeemer, and our High Priest! Let us know and understand that when we take HIS name unto ourselves, that we are now identified with HIM. And that now HIS name is connected to everything that we are and everything that we do. Which is why Paul exhorts Timothy to preach to everyone that everyone that nameth the name of Christ must DEPART from iniquity. Why? Because HIS NAME is at stake. Jesus Christ did not come all the way down from heaven and shed his blood on the cross and go down into the lower parts of the earth to seize the keys of hell and death and rise from the dead with all power and heaven and earth to call a people unto himself and keep them in sin, bondage, and confusion. NO! He calls us unto himself so that by HIS worthy and HOLY name and by his pure word and Spirit and blood we might be washed, and set apart, and redeemed from all iniquity to be a glorious people to stand fast in the glorious liberty and freedom and love that only Christ can give to those who are called by HIS WORTHY NAME!

So let us no longer seek our own will. Let us no longer seek to please ourselves and our flesh. Let us no longer be people-pleasers defiling the truth and ways of the Lord to gain favour from others. But let us rather walk worthy of the HOLY and BLESSED name of our Lord Jesus Christ, by whom we are called to obtain the salvation that is ONLY in and BY HIS NAME!

In the end, the truth is, we cannot actually tarnish HIS NAME. For HIS NAME is most blessed for ever and ever. And none can defile his holy name. But, we can defile his name in the eyes of the lost, and our uncleanness can cause many to stumble and be snared and be taken captive. So may the LORD have mercy upon us and help us to truly walk worthy of that holy name by which we are called so that HE receives the glory that HE is due from the people called by his NAME, and so that the world might see and know and believe that truly JESUS is the Son of God sent by the Father, and that their only hope of salvation and redemption is in and through HIS NAME!
