Psalm 62:7-8

"In God is my salvation and my glory: the rock of my strength, and my refuge, is in God. Trust in him at all times; ye people, pour out your heart before him: God is a refuge for us. Selah."

Devotion: There is nothing as glorious and beautiful upon this earth as a man who finally is brought to the point/place where his only hope and help is from the living God. When God truly becomes the only One that is turned to and called upon for salvation, deliverance, strength, grace, mercy, patience, and honour, then this is the man whose hope and glory truly is only in HIM! "He only is my rock, and my salvation..." How wonderful and how blessed it is when the LORD God himself is truly our refuge!; and when all our hope and trust and dependence in good times and in bad times is in Him! Oh the peace and comfort and relief and strength that he provides to the weary soul that trusteth in him! The souls of the children of pride know no such blessedness. When the day of evil and cloudy darkness falleth upon them, how they fight and scream and faint and perish with no hope nor refuge; for their refuge shall certainly collapse and fail them. But this is not the case with those in whose confidence is the LORD. So let us continually abide in Him. Let trust in Him at all times and daily pour out our heart only to Him! For he made us; we are his people, and the sheep of his pasture; because ultimately, God is a refuge for us. Selah and amen.
