In our modern society, it is easy for us to forget, or be ignorant of, what the word "Lord" truly means. Yet it is a title used more than 6700 times throughout the Bible to refer to both God and Jesus Christ. The salvation of our souls rests in part on the confession of Jesus Christ as Lord (Romans 10:9-10). Even so, Jesus said that not everyone who says unto him "Lord, Lord" shall enter into the kingdom of heaven (Matthew 7:21).
