Through Faith & Patience
To constantly press into the invisible realm of the kingdom of God and his Spirit truly requires both faith and patience. There is no other way around it. These virtues are absolutely essential. Let us praise God that our Lord is committed to working and growing these things in us despite the fact that often the circumstances we find ourselves in are rather uncomfortable. Let us press forward more into his will and his grace through faith & patience.
Meat in Due Season
The new church plant here in Alberton is growing slowly and steadily. A body is forming (both visibly and invisibly). It’s amazing how once we step into the light, so to speak, how it reveals different things that were not visible in the realm of the uncommitted. However, these things are good and we praise God for his work. The LORD laid heavily on my heart to establish this work in the fear of the LORD. So through much prayer and exhortation by the grace of God we have done that. The LORD has been very gracious to us and is speaking clearly to his people. We must fear him, or else there is no hope of knowing him or inheriting his kingdom. For now we meet on Sunday mornings and Wednesday evenings. On Wednesdays we have endeavored to go through the book of Proverbs. Thus far we have studied through the first 4 (foundational) chapters of Proverbs. On Sunday mornings, after considering the fear of the LORD for a few weeks, we have now begun a series which we have titled “Who is this King of Glory?” Springing out of Psalm 24 we have endeavored to search through the Old Testament to see where Jesus (the Word of God) is revealed directly (either through his presence or a direct prophecy). So far we have done 7 parts of this study. It is wonderful to get to know the real Jesus Christ: the One who is truly worthy of our praise and adoration; the only One who is truly worthy of our entire lives and beings. My prayer is that all of us will die to the old man and walk this consecrated life unto him in newness of life so that everything we do might be for his praise and his glory.
New Marriages
When we started this church there were 2 couples that started coming along and really laying the word to heart: Andrew & Annaline; and Thomas & Carla. I just assumed they were both married, but I guess I assumed wrong. But praise God, through the truth of his word and the power of his Spirit both of them are now completely committed to getting married before God (and the law) before the end of the year. Both couples have asked me to lead the ceremony. Thomas & Carla are to be married on the 5th of November and Andrew & Annaline on the 4th of December. This is truly exciting! Please keep these couples in prayer. Our prayer is that their marriages would truly bring glory to God and would refine and purify them to be more fit to serve the Lord Jesus and please him.
Other News
Hannah and the ladies are doing a prayer and Bible Study every other week. This has been a help to them all.
We had to move out of our apartment by the end of October. Thankfully, the LORD opened the door for us (no pun intended) to find a 3-bedroom home to rent for a price that is far cheaper than anything else we looked at in the same class of size and quality. We moved at the beginning of October. It was a lot of work (as moving always is), but it went far smoother than I could have ever imagined.
Please pray for Hannah and I (her especially) in this new season of having 4 little ones. The work and needs are endless. Having twins with 2 other small children and with one of them being special needs is quite an interesting experience. Literally every day we get to the end of it only by the grace of God. Somehow though, he renews our strength day-by-day. He is always FAITHFUL!
